Selective enforcement no shock

This is in response to “More USFK contractors lose jobs over visas”: It’s no surprise I see U.S. Forces Korea continues to selectively and hypocritically enforce visa requirements only on those individuals who are not “family members” of active-duty military. Gee, what a great way to open up additional jobs for active-duty family members at the expense of those who have relied on those jobs to feed their families for years. Something has to be done to increase the availability of jobs if we are to increase the footprint of active-duty family members by expanding command sponsorship — who cares which civilians get hurt in the process? If these individuals must lose their jobs because they are in violation of visa provisions, then why do those who teach English in violation of their visa not lose their Status of Forces Agreement status? Could it be because most are family members of active-duty personnel, including some senior leaders — or is it because the king has no clothes?
